Being a Volunteer at ‘The Pantry’
If you would like to become a Pantry Volunteer, please visit ‘The Pantry’ on Monday or Wednesday 8.30am to 10.30am to see ‘The Pantry’ in action, or alternatively if you wish to give as little as one hour per fortnight, call ‘The Pantry’ on 0421 677 552 for more details.
Duties of Volunteers:
- Meet, Greet and Record Clients
- Sort and Rotate Donations and Purchases into Pantry Stock
- Dispense Bulk Items into Sizeable Serving Portions
- Sort Donated Food Items, Fruit, Vegetables, Meats and Breads.
- Fill and Distribute Hamper Bags
Our team of Volunteers on Mondays and Wednesdays:
Clean the pantry, set up tables, chairs and eating areas (Monday Brekky Club) for any requiring a hot sit down meal.
Pantry volunteers work with organisations through other community outreach programs, picking up and delivering food donations, and purchases from local businesses, bring these items to ‘The Pantry’ several times a week for distribution..
Volunteers whilst at ‘The Pantry’ prepare breakfasts (Monday Brekky Club), book in clients, deliver food hampers to reciprents, prepare hamper bags, inventory and pack stock away.
At scheduled events (fund raisers), volunteers work to raise money for ‘The Pantry’ operations. Additionally volunteers work to prepare lunchons and Christmas Hampers and such for those in need.
